This past week, we launched Encounter at The Well, our Thursday worship and prayer service. When we first envisioned this gathering, our heart was simply to come before the Lord as a church—to pray, seek Him, and dwell in His presence. If there’s one thing that makes our church unique, it’s our deep desire for prayer. That heart for prayer is what birthed Encounter at The Well.
I was so moved by the response. About 21 people came out to worship and pray, and so many shared with me how much they needed this time. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect—we simply put this together out of a desire to pray—but seeing people kneeling before the Lord, crying out to Him, truly touched my heart.
Prayer is vital in our lives. It’s easy to settle for Sunday gatherings, but I could see that people are hungry and thirsty for more of God. When we encounter Him, we find strength to overcome each day. This reminds me of Moses—how in the wilderness, through trials and challenges, he continually met with God on Mount Sinai. He spoke with God as a friend, and each time he came down from the mountain, his face shone with God’s glory.
How can we shine with God’s presence in every circumstance? It happens when we encounter Him—when we meet Him in prayer. Encounter at The Well is our church’s longing to be shaped by God, both individually and as a community. We desire to be a church of all nations, all generations, all languages. But we cannot achieve this by our strength alone. As we seek the Lord, the Holy Spirit transforms us, molding us to be more like Jesus.
We want to be a church that eagerly awaits the Bridegroom. A church that makes disciples into the image of Christ. A house of worship. A place of prayer, where we gather on our knees before God. My prayer is that through these Encounter services, God will continue to shape us into the beautiful bride He longs for us to be.
Come and see that the Lord is good. Join us for Encounter at The Well every Thursday at 8 PM.
